The very first time I cinched, squeezed and hiked my waist into the deliciously cruel, steel boned embrace of a corset is forever etched into my mind like the sweet memory of a lovers first kiss…

I can still feel the surges of heat and excitement flushing through my body as it constrictive yet delicate hands enveloped my waist. The delicious sensation of being so tightly held and restricted, controlled by your own choice, by your own hand was a paradoxically empowering experience. I knew from this moment my love affair with the corset would be one of lifelong devotion. My deep love for corsets is three fold, manifesting in three realms; the somatic, the aesthetic and the cerebral.

Lays a secret world where dark lovers can be found

An abnormally sunny day in Berlin…

As I entered through the museum doors I was pondering the realm of vulnerability, of feeling deeply “exposed” in ones power and yet also paradoxically disconnected from it. It was at this moment that I was met by the most striking image, above the grand staircase of the Museum of Photography, displayed in breathtakingly large format, Helmut Newtons ‘Big Nudes’ collection. I was instantly met by the captivating gaze of one of the women, one of the most powerful images of a naked woman I have ever witnessed, not sexualised, not “pretty” not smiling, but a force of beauty, nature and power standing before me, laid bare. Feeling the deep contrast in the evocation of this image and my current emotional landscape, I knew at this moment that this visit on this day would draw me into reflection and have me delving into this realm of contrast, power and vulnerability.

Exploring vulnerability in Dominance….

Showing vulnerability will always be viewed as a strength in my mind, and this applies to all areas of life, including the Domme space. Submissives offer up such a raw and beautiful gift of vulnerability when committing to service and sub space, to offer the same wholeness in return is elemental to creating a balance and exchange.

There are many different elements and drivers that can lead one to explore the beautiful world of bdsm and to visit a Dominatrix. 

For some of us it is innate desire or perhaps even a need, that has been with us for as long as we can remember, like a hypotonic whisper that transmutes into the most powerful poetry once we are finally able to find a space to truly hear the words.
